The year is coming to an end and this time last year we posted about needing models for some special projects. About a week or so later my mother had a health scare and was in the hospital and a rehabilitation facility. Needless to say we got quite busy taking care of parents and were not able to do much with our ideas, and then we got back into the busy season. So, this year we wanted to try again. But first we want to tell you a few things that have been going on and show you some of the models we did photograph.
Last January we had Jessica, a photography student intern, with us for a few months and we found that she really caught on quickly and we really liked her, she just fit in good. Since Cammie left a few years ago we were starting to need someone more full time again. This past summer Jessica started working for us in the office and with our event and school photography and has worked out great. Right now she is working on her Certified Professional Photographer degree from the Professional Photographers of America and will be needing images to submit for that. So, she will be needing some subjects to photograph.
One of the projects I had for last year was my bearded man project and it was one that we had a lot of interest in. These gentlemen were so much fun to photograph and get to know and we captured some amazing images. Several of these images we used in competition in Georgia, Iowa, PPA and the Southeastern Division of PPA. In these competitions they took honors and helped me earn some more merits towards my Masters of Photography degree from PPA. We want to continue that project, so any bearded men out there call us!
In addition to the bearded men we want to photograph a few people for some very specific images. There will only be a few openings. These images will be used for display, advertising and competitions for Mike and Jessica’s degrees. Below is a list of people or things we are looking for. If we photograph you, we might have specific clothing or prop requirements we will ask you to bring, wear or use. Because competition prints tend to be more on the artsy side, these might not be looking at the camera, smiling images. Of course there is no cost to you for this project, you can purchase images at a discount and you will be given an 8×10 of our favorite image. Who knows you might become famous!

Do you ever have ideas about things when you are driving down the road? Ideas about things you would like to try? A few weeks ago I had this idea of a portrait that I wanted to try in the studio and so this past Sunday I just went out to the studio and did it of myself (the image below). That was just one of my ideas floating around in my head recently. Monday on my way back from Athens I passed a location at just the right time of day and wished I had someone to photograph at that moment in that place! This happens to me all of the time! So, I am asking for some help. If you or anyone you know would be interested in helping me out with a few of these over the next few months hopefully we can make you famous! If not you will get a free session out of it along with an 8×10. For most of the images that I am wanting to do I have very specific needs, if you fit one or know someone who does please contact me or have them contact me.
Subjects that I am looking for right now:
Children in winter clothes, coat, scarves, hat and gloves.
Men with big beards.
Bikers (the older and rougher looking – wrinkles and age – the better), beards, tattoos, leather…
Girls, late teens or early 20’s with long hair with winter clothes
High school or college football player in full uniform.
Motorcycle, something unique and different.
I have a lot of others too that are floating around right now that we will post soon.
