Every year on October 1st the truck arrives with pumpkins at our church. Our youth group has a pumpkin sale to help raise money for the annual mission trip and retreats. They all take turns manning the patch and when they are in school parents and grandparents help man the patch. Last night I heard that someone had stolen some pumpkins this weekend and I couldn't believe that anyone would stoop so low. But after thinking about it in the past year they have stolen air conditioners from churches and vases and plaques from graveyards. It is amazing to me that these people can live with themselves after doing things like this.
If you need pumpkins please think about buying them from the youth group, the money will go to a good cause I promise! It is located at the Winder First United Methodist Church on North Broad Street in Winder. Or if you don't live here remember this when you see a group of youth selling pumpkins and please try and help them out.
