Over the years it seems like the portrait sessions that really bring back memories for me is when we go on location. For years we have gone to the beach for sessions, and are going again June 22 – 24. Then when Leslie was a really young we did a portrait of Chance holding her in her arms in a field which started our Field portraits. In the last two weeks ago we have gone on sessions with seniors to a waterfall, church, field and a high school. Every time we go on location it seems to add a lot to the portrait especially when it is somewhere that has meaning to the subject.
Another great thing to do is incorporate a prop or some hobby into the session. Last night we had a family session in Athens and added in some musical instruments. Now not only is the portrait done in a unique location, but it has something in it that tells a little something about the person and what they love and are involved in at the time.
