After my last appointment Friday I drove to a friends house so that we could get an early start the next day for a trip to photograph some waterfalls in Alabama and Tennessee. The next morning we got up and left at 6 AM, which is very hard for me since I am not a morning person at all, and started driving. As we were heading west towards Alabama one thought that I couldn't escape was just how many Cedar Creeks are there in Georgia, my mind was wandering a good bit. At sunrise we got to our first waterfall and it was almost dry! I went to this waterfall last August and it was huge and I was so excited about seeing it with the fall colors. So we made the best of it and started walking around, where the river usually is raging, and finding other areas to photograph. We found some really beautiful areas without really using the waterfalls, which was good since we went to five waterfalls that day and they were all almost completely dried up.
The next day we got up early, again, and went to another waterfall where we actually had some water. Rutledge falls is just outside Manchester, TN and while we did find water it was about a third or so what it usually is. After leaving here we went our separate ways, Keith went to Mississippi to an convention and I went further west in Tennessee to a different photography program. All in all it was a wonderful trip where we got to see a lot of beautiful areas and meet and learn from some really great people. Tomorrow I will tell you about another stop I made on the was west from Manchester and also have a few more images.
These are all from Little River Canyon, our first stop.
