Thursday we drove down to St. Simons Island to do our beach portraits and just before we left we found out about wildfires and smoke being in the area. After we arrived and got out of the car it really hit us about how bad it really was. It was so smokey and smelled like smoke so bad everywhere. Everyone was surprised to find out that we knew nothing about it, it has been burning since April. It seems like all we hear about is Arizona and a congressman's Tweeting problems and they say nothing about the 225,000 acres that have burned in southeast Georgia, that was the total as of last Saturday.
Anyway, we had a great trip and were able to get some beautiful images of everyone. Friday we even got to go to CJ's pizza for my Fathers day meal, my choice. As we were leaving the beach Friday night I took this image, with my iPhone, as we were leaving the beach and really liked the way it turned out. Wish I had used the camera for this one too!
